Many new technologies like this will enter the farming/agriculture industry over the next decade or two. They will drive much of traditional farming into obsolescence.
While this is great from a food security perspective, it also means that agriculture is on the cusp of being disrupted in many ways.
This will mean safer food and better-controlled supply chains. But what will it mean for our farmers? It appears that it is in the destiny of India to become an urban economy. Within 2-3 decades, the percentage of our population in agriculture may fall from today’s 66% to 20%, or even less.
