The decline in the population of bees, and indeed, that of 40% of all insect species across the world, could have powerful, negative implications for food security.

Bees are essential for pollination, and the growth of food crops.

Insects, in general, are at the bottom of the food chain which sustains all the animals further up, all the way up to humans.

The situation is becoming quite serious across North America and Europe.

I wonder what the situation is in India, and how the insect population today compares to the insect population in 1980.
