A video, published by the BBC, depicting the impact of pollution in the Mongolian capital, could just as well be depicting the impact of pollution in many Indian cities like Delhi, Allahabad, Kanpur, Gwalior, and several other cities and towns in the northern plains.
What will it take for the Indian media to wake up and give adequate importance and coverage to this massive disaster?
We have hundreds of thousands of people dying, and millions suffering from disease every year because of pollution. And all that we see in the media are dry statistics.
When will we see the powerful, emotive, and human, stories that wake people up from their slumber and bring them out in the streets demanding attention, budgets, and change, from our government?
The mainstream Indian media is letting down the people.
