
Alcohol is a metabolic poison, and excessive drinking causes innumerable problems worldwide.
My interest is, of course, from a food safety perspective.
Any level of alcohol above the recommended limits is unsafe. It contributes to a significant percentage of liver disease, pancreatitis, cancers and more.
The fundamental problem arises from the addictive nature of alcohol. People drink it for the “buzz”.
