Another nutritional superstition from Rujuta Diwekar. I can’t believe that she is actually promoting chapattis plus jaggery plus ghee as a “nutritious” meal for children.

In terms of nutrition, this is almost no different from bread with sugar and butter.

This is by no means a nutritious meal for kids. It is protein deficient, micronutrient deficient, and full of sugar.

For most kids in India now, there is too much sugar already in their food. Additional sugar (or jaggery) is unhealthy and unsafe for most kids.

The only healthy thing in the meal is the ghee.

Chapattis plus jaggery plus ghee is not a balanced nutritious meal for your child. It is deficient in macro nutrients and also micronutrients
