The popular cotton briefs are reducing sperm counts, and possibly causing infertility in some people.
It is important that adolescents and young men do not wear briefs or other figure hugging underwear, especially in a hot tropical/semitropical country like India.
The thick, figure hugging cotton briefs seem to be the preferred underwear for young urban people. The television ads for brands like Amul Macho, Lux Cozy, Dollar Club and Rupa etc are not helping by drawing a relationship between “macho” men and tight fitting briefs.
Loose fitting underwear like boxers are a better choice.
The “macho” actors endorsing these brands wouldn’t be so if they were to really follow what they preach!
