Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and with our busy schedules we all try and have a healthy breakfast to start our day well. Most of us stack different kinds of breakfast cereals in our cupboards which claim to be healthy and nutritious for us.
We have reviewed some of the popular breakfast cereals in this article based on the nutritional values in them:
Kellogs Cornflakes 1Kelloggs CornFlakes– Nutritional Value Per 30 gms,  Calories-60 KCal, Sodium-    0 mg, Total Fat-1 g,    Potassium-97 mg,Saturated fat-0 gms, Total Carbs-84 gms, Sugar-8gms, Protein-7 gms, Dietary Fiber-3 gms.
Kelloggs Cornflakes is generally low in fat, calories and salt as well. So it can be consumed as a choice of breakfast but it low in diverse minerals and vitamins and phyto nutrients such as those found in vegetables and fruit. It is not a replacement for a complete balanced breakfast. We recommend a wholesome breakfast with high nutrient diversity and sufficient amounts of all major macro and micro nutrients .
chocosKelloggs Chocos- Nutritional Value Per 30 gms,  Calories-114 KCal, Sodium-0 mg, Total Fat-1 gm, Potassium-0 mg,Saturated fat-0 gms, Total Carbs-23 gms, Sugar-10 gms, Protein-3 gms, Dietary Fiber-2 gms.
Kelloggs Chocos is loved by kids everywhere but 10 gms of sugar in 30 gms of chocos is unhealthy. Sugar is highly addictive and of very poor nutrient value. high sugar consumption is linked to a very large number of diseases and also increasingly to childhood diseases. In our opinion, Kelloggs chocos should be restricted for kids and replaced with healthier options. In addition, like its cousin above, it very low in protein and also deficient in diverse minerals and vitamins and phyto nutrients found in vegetables and fruit. It is not a replacement for a complete balanced breakfast. We recommend a wholesome breakfast with high nutrient diversity and sufficient amounts of all major macro and micro nutrients .
 
Kellogs Honey Loops 1Kelloggs Honey Loops– Nutritional Value in 30 gms, Calories-172 KCal, Sodium-    180 mg, Total Fat-4 gms, Potassium-0 mg, Total Carbs-28 gms, Dietary Fiber-2 gms, Sugar-15 gms, Protein-7 gms.
Kelloggs Honey Loops’ delicious flavour is relished by adults and kids alike, but the alarming proportion of sugar being 15 gms in 30 gms of cereal is really bad for our health and the number of calories it contains is also very high. This product should not be consumed by diabetics and the health conscious. We do not recommend it for children except infrequently and in small quantities.
 
oatsQuaker Oats– Nutritional Value in 40 gms, Calories 150 KCal, Total Fat 3gms, Saturated Fat-0g ms, Polyunsaturated Fat-1 gm, Cholesterol-0 mg, Sodium-0 mg, Potassium-0 mg, Carbohydrates 27gms, Dietary Fiber- 4 gms, Sugar- 1 gm, Protein-5 gms.
Quaker Oats are high in calories and carbohydrates but low in sugar and salt. Oats are rich in soluble fibre which helps to keep your arteries healthy and free of blockages. So if you are leading a very active lifestyle you should have oats, but if you have a sedentary lifestyle then replace it with low calorie healthy food.  In addition, by itself or just with milk, we do not believe that it is a good replacement to a wholesome and complete meal.
