Rasna Fruit plus Mango is a fruit  drink concentrate powder with added sugar.
The sugar content in it is at extremely high levels of 90 gm per 100 gm pack which makes it a no-no for those battling diabetes and weight issues.
It contains fruit juice powder, but you need to keep in mind that it is not fruit juice but a small quantity of fruit juice concentrate with a very large amount of added sugar.
The foodnetindia rating for this product :-
foodnetindia safety rating: 2- (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unsafe to very safe)
This product is being promoted as a healthy drink with added vitamins and the advertising is aimed at children. Sugary drinks with large amount of added sugar are not recommended for children and must not be given to them except in extremely small quantities, and even then, not frequently. The high added sugar in this drink makes it unsafe for people having diabetes or other serious health issues or susceptibility to metabolic syndrome; and these must not be given at all to obese children.
foodnetindia wholesomeness rating : 2 (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unbalanced nutrition profile to excellent nutrition profile)
This food has negligible macro nutrient diversity and is almost wholly sugar. We do not consider this a wholesome food or a good addition to a wholesome diet.
Ingredients of concern in Rasna Fruit Plus Mango

Sugar-sucrose
It contains 90 grams of sugar. Sugar is a carbohydrate found naturally in a host of different foods from lactose in milk to the fructose in fruit and honey. There is no evidence that humans require sugar in our diets. Complex carbohydrates and healthy fats can supply energy to fuel our muscles and keep our brains active. Many processed foods have added sugar and these add up to exceed the recommended daily levels of sugar. This can affect our health, including our immunity – leaving us more prone to lifestyle diseases, metabolic diseases and also communicable diseases. A high intake of sugar causes our blood sugar levels to shoot up, giving us that feel-good ‘high’ followed by a crashing slump which leaves us tired, irritable and craving more sugary foods. It’s a vicious cycle that may be contributing to our weight problems as well as health concerns like diabetes, cancers and heart disease.
Other ingredients that are in the product but not a major source of concern in our opinion are:

  • Fruit Powder (0.8%)
  • Fruit and vegetable extracts
