Summary Feedback
True Elements roasted Flax and Watermelon Chilli and Rosemary is a mix of flax seeds, watermelon seeds, sesame seeds roasted in an unknown edible oil, and seasoned with dry mango, thyme, black pepper, cumin, Rosemary,  chillipowder, Rock salt and sugar.
The product contains an unspecified edible oil which is most likely to be an edible vegetable oil. Some vegetable oils contain large amounts of biologically active fats called Omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which could be harmful in excess. Excess polyunsaturated fats may react with oxygen and oxidised Omega-6 fats can damage body functions and perhaps even vital structures like DNA.
Flaxseeds is one of the ingredients in it and it is known to be a rich source of dietary fibre and omega-3 fatty acids. Researchers believe the fibre in Flax seeds bind with cholesterol in the intestine and prevents it from being absorbed. It also seems to make platelets, the blood cells involved in clotting, less sticky. Because of flaxseed’s effect on cholesterol and blood clotting, it is thought that it may lower the risk of “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis).
Watermelon seeds are very high in protein, the protein in watermelon seeds consists of several amino acids, like arginine, which regulates blood pressure and is beneficial in treating coronary heart disease. Other amino acids in it are tryptophan, glutamic acid, and lysine. The most prevalent B vitamin in watermelon seeds is niacin, which is important for maintaining the nervous system, digestive system and skin health. It also contains Magnesium which helps to regulate blood pressure and the metabolism of carbohydrates, and also has a beneficial effect on blood sugar as well.
Sesame seed are rich in B complex vitamins which are important for your hair, skin and eyes. These B vitamins include thiamin, niacin, folic acid, pyridoxine and riboflavin. It is also rich in minerals like copper, magnesium and calcium. Sesame seeds are also a rich source of calcium and zinc, which are key to strong and healthy bones. So it makes sense making sesame seeds a part of the diet of older individuals to prevent osteoporosis. A study by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed a link between low dietary intake of zinc and osteoporosis in the hip and spine.
