This soup contains a high amount of salt at 3 gm (1188.9 mg Sodium) per serving of 45 gm soup + 8 gm crunchies. A single serving of this product takes you to that daily limit. The WHO recommendation of daily salt intake is between 1-3 grams. High salt intake can cause problems like high BP, kidney problems etc.
It contains edible vegetable oils-sunflower oil, rice bran oil and safflower seed oil, and corn oil, vegetable oils like these contain very large amounts of biologically active fats called Omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which could be harmful in excess.
In addition, over 60% ingredients in the soup are high glycemic index empty calories from simple starches like refined wheat flour, tapioca starch and potato starch. High glycemic index foods are not recommended for people who are trying to avoid obesity, heart disease, hypertension etc.
The foodnetindia rating for this product :-
foodnetindia safety rating:5 (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unsafe to very safe)
The high salt in this packaged soup poses a safety concern in a population at high risk of metabolic syndrome and heart disease. A single serving delivers almost the entire day’s recommended salt consumption. The simple starches pose an additional problem for people trying to avoid lifestyle diseases and consuming this soup as a “health food”.
foodnetindia wholesomeness rating: 6 (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unbalanced nutrition profile to excellent nutrition profile)
This product contains wholesome ingredients and a good amount of protein and fibre. But it also contains high salt, and is heavy in high glycaemic simple starches.
Soup products in India are often eaten as health products by people who are already at risk of lifestyle diseases. The high salt, and high glycemic index simple starches from wheat, tapioca and potato forces us to give this a low wholesomeness rating.

Salt
High sodium diets have been known to be the cause of high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. The recommended daily intake of salt is between 1-3 grams.
Sunflower oil, Safflower Seed Oil, Rice bran Oil
Certain vegetable oils like sunflower oil, safflower seed oil and rice bran oil contain very large amounts of biologically active fats called Omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which could be harmful in excess.
