foodnetindia safety rating: 6 – (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unsafe to very safe)
High sugar products are not recommended for those at risk of diabetes and lifestyle diseases. This product can be eaten by the healthy in small quantities as a dessert, which is usually how this product is consumed.
foodnetindia wholesomeness rating: 6 – (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unbalanced nutrition profile to excellent nutrition profile)
Unlike many chocolates available in India which contain edible vegetable oil or hydrogenated vegetable oil as an ingredient, this product uses wholesome cocoa butter and milk solids. The cocoa solids, almonds, raisins and hazelnuts are all nutritious and wholesome foods. However, as it is a high in sugar product, it’s wholesomeness rating can’t be high.
Ingredients in Nestle LES RECETTES DE L’ATELIER DARK RAISINS ALMONDS HAZELNUTS which are a concern:
- Sugar
- Salt
Sugar
It does not specify which sugar has been used. This is important because different sugars have different metabolic effects. For example, Sucrose (Cane Sugar) is very different from Fructose (Fruit Sugar). Some foods use high fructose corn syrup which may be harmful in much lower quantities than sucrose. We believe that it is not responsible behaviour for a brand to not clearly state what ingredients have been used.
Salt
High sodium diets have been known to be the cause of high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. The recommended daily intake of salt is between 1-3 grams.

Replies, if any, from the brand, will be published here ‘As is’
I just read your review which I do not agree too. the type of sugar is mentioned as its sucrose and rest of the sweetness is coming from sweetened cranberries. your review has mentioned that this is not suitable for diabetics or for lifestyle diseases but my question is, is the brand saying that this is a health product. instead of the above review, a few lines about the taste, quality of chocolate used? why is it reasonably priced despite being a swiss chocolate etc should have been mentioned here. I am sorry I do not agree with your comments. Disclaimer – I am not an employee of Nestle @NestleIndia Thanks.
