Summary feedback
Havmor Chocolate Chips Ice cream is made from milk solids, cocoa solids, and does not contain added vegetable oil or “vegetable fats”.
It contains 11.9 gm of added sugar in a 100 ml pack which is high and not recommended for diabetics and those with high blood sugar. In India, ice creams are typically not eaten in very large quantities,so even though Ice creams such as this one tend to have quite a bit of sugar, we do not see it as a major problem in a diet that is otherwise low on sugar.
The foodnetindia rating for this product:-
foodnetindia safety rating: 6 – (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unsafe to very safe)
The sugar in this product reduces its safety rating as excess sugar may pose a problem to the health of kids and adults, causing the onset of obesity and lifestyle diseases.
foodnetindia wholesomeness rating: 6 – (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unbalanced nutrition profile to excellent nutrition profile)
This product contains wholesome ingredients like Milk Solids and cocoa solids, but it is a dessert containing a lot of sugar and is not a meal replacement. Eat occasionally as a part of a diet that is otherwise low in sugar.
Ingredients in Havmor Chocolate Chips Ice cream  which are a concern:
Sugar
Added flavours- Vanilla
Sugar
This food product does not specify which sugar has been used. This is important because different sugars have different metabolic effects. For example, Sucrose (Cane Sugar) is very different from Fructose (Fruit Sugar). Some foods use high fructose corn syrup which may be harmful in much lower quantities than sucrose. We believe that it is not responsible behaviour for a brand to not clearly state what ingredients have been used.
Added flavours- Vanilla flavour
This food product does not specify the full chemical names of the  flavours or flavouring substances that have been used. The flavours should be specified as some of them have serious side effects and may not be suitable for infants, pregnant women or people who are allergic. We believe that it is not responsible behaviour for a brand to avoid clearly stating what ingredients have been used.
By not specifying what these flavours and substances are, we are forced to consider what they are hiding and why would they be so reluctant to mention what they have used in the food product!
By this behaviour, these manufacturers expose people to possible allergens or toxins that could be avoided if consumers knew what they were.
