GITS Ready to eat Punjabi Chhole is a convenience food. It contains water, chick peas 25% (chhole), onion, tomato, sunflower oil, coriander leaves, chillies, ginger, salt, ghee, garlic, pomegranate seeds, cumin, cornflour, jaggery, cardamom, cinnamon, mace, caraway, coriander seeds, fenugreek leaves, black pepper, cloves.
In India refined sunflower oil is the oil of choice for millions of households who are not aware that vegetable oils like these contain very large amounts of biologically active fats called Omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which could be harmful in excess.
It contains 1 gm salt in it which is high as the the daily allowance for salt intake as per WHO guidelines is 1-3 gm per day, and eating a 100 gm Gits Chhole pack takes you almost to that level.

Sunflower Oil
Vegetable oils like Sunflower oil contain very large amounts of biologically active fats called Omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which could be harmful in excess. Excess polyunsaturated fats may react with oxygen and oxidised Omega-6 fats can damage body functions and perhaps even vital structures like DNA.
Salt
High sodium diets have been known to be the cause of high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. The recommended daily intake of salt is between 1-3 grams.
