Product review- Dabur Hommade Ginger Garlic Paste

Summary feedback
Indian food is incomplete without the use of ginger and garlic, but with a hectic lifestyle and busy schedule, packaged ready-to-use ginger garlic pastes are very much in demand.
Garlic and ginger are two herbs which have many therapeutic uses and health benefits, alongside their more common uses in the kitchen. They have been studied for their effectiveness in fighting infections, preventing cancer and reducing inflammation and various other applications.
Garlic is thought to have antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties. It can be applied to the skin to treat fungal infections such as ringworm, jock itch and athlete’s foot. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, it was used on wounds during both world wars to prevent infection. A 2010 study published in the “Journal of Microbiology and Antimicrobials,” ginger proved to have a higher antibacterial power than three conventional antibiotics against two strains of staph infection common in hospitals.
Dabur Hommade Ginger Garlic Paste contains ginger, garlic, stabilizers and preservatives.
The food label says it contains salt as an ingredient but unfortunately the brand does not mention the quantity used in it. Most packaged ready-to-eat condiments usually contain high amount of salt in them. We are concerned because high sodium diets have been known to be the cause of high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. The recommended daily intake of salt is between 1-3 grams.
We would have given this product a thumbs-up if there was no stabilizer or preservative in it.
