Summary Feedback-
Ammi Samayal Wood Pressed Coconut Oil label says that it contains No Sulphur, No Chemicals and Preservatives.
They follow the process of wood press extraction of coconut oil where the temperature of nuts/seeds is maintained at room temperature and since the oil is not heated, it retains the natural nutrients, flavor, color.. .
foodnetindia Rating
foodnetindia safety rating: 9-(On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unsafe to very safe)
Ammi Samayal Coconut oil does not contain Sulphur, Chemicals and Harmful Preservatives according to its Food label. Coconut oil is safe for deep frying due to its high smoking point. However, this oil is unrefined and therefore has a lower smoking point due to coconut pulp residue in the oil. Unrefined oils should not be used for high heat cooking.
The product packaging does not mention the use of anti oxidants like TBHQ. We are assuming that they do not use it.
foodnetindia wholesomeness rating: 9-(On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unbalanced nutrition profile to excellent nutrition profile)
Coconut oil has many natural excellent health properties and has been traditionally used in India for centuries, it also has a high heating point which makes it a good oil for high heat cooking . This product is free from harmful sulphur, additives etc. There is increasing evidence that although coconut oil is predominantly made of saturated fats, MCTs (medium chain triglycerides) such as those present in coconut oil may be beneficial and are not a health risk. It is well documented that some island communities/tribes that get most of their calories from coconut fat have very low incidence of heart disease.
Ingredients that are in the product but not a major source of concern in our opinion are:
Coconut Oil
