Daily Delight Aloo Paratha is a product from the Parayil group of Kerala, founded in 1993.
The product we are reviewing is a category of frozen food, which is whole wheat bread stuffed with potato.
We like the fact that this product has a nutritional label clearly specifying every ingredient, which is good for the consumer as he knows exactly what he is eating.
We are concerned about the high amount of starch and carbohydrates in this product as it contains 77 gm of carbohydrates per 113.5 gm. Eating this product in high quantities daily would prove harmful and unsafe for the overweight people and those with lifestyle disease.
The foodnetindia rating for this product:-
foodnetindia safety rating : 6 – (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unsafe to very safe)
In India the working class is turning away from home cooked food to convenience foods like frozen food. The worrying factor here is the high level of carbohydrates (77 gm per 113.5 gm) in the product and also the high amount of calories as in 113.5 gm of the product one gets 370 Kcal which can cause obesity and lifestyle diseases if consumed regularly.
foodnetindia wholesomeness rating :6 – (On a scale of 1 to 10 from very unbalanced nutrition profile to excellent nutrition profile)
The product is wholesome and nutritious as it is made from whole wheat, however the high amount of salt and calories in the product makes it unsuitable for the obese and those with lifestyle diseases.
People eat this as a meal replacement and it is a very starchy food with no macro or micronutrient diversity.
