I love food and I love to eat. But until very recently, I really didn’t know much about the food I was eating… ingredients, preservatives, processes and packaging were simply the ‘Fine Print’ on the back of the package. I began to study Law and it changed my perspective. I grew increasingly aware of the many food safety and security issues that affected my health and that of millions of Indians, issues that do not exist in the developed world. Growing up in Mumbai increased my awareness of the extent of food security issues in India. I decided to act and so I have created a a platform – foodnetindia for people to become aware and to learn about food safety and security concerns in India.I intend to make foodnetindia the best source of information for the average Indian on food law, food security and food safety in our country.

I have chosen to contribute to foodnetindia as fitness and good health for me are priorities; and foodnetindia helps people to make healthy and informed choices about the food they buy and eat.

I have a Masters in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics. I have worked for 8 years as an investment banker in banks like HDFC and Axis Bank. I left the corporate world when I had my kids. I have always been an avid reader and believe in the power of the pen and so I have taken up content writing full time over the past 3 years. I enjoy writing about various topics but food and nutrition are my favourite subjects to write about.
