Launched in 1996 by Capital Foods, Ching’s Secret has become very popular among the desi Chinese food lovers .
The product is made entirely from wheat flour and so this will be a high glycemic load for most people and we encourage low consumption of this food, preferably with a lot of wholesome vegetables and/or chicken or meat.
The protein content in this product is 9 gm per 75 gm while simple carbohydrate is 60 gm per 75 gm pack which is high and detrimental to health of those with lifestyle diseases.

The product has been given a lower rating because of the high simple carb content and the fact that most people in India who consume it do not restrict it to 30% or less of their meal.
The resultant high glycemic load reduces overall safety of the meal for most people. In addition, unlike a wheat flour chapathi, this product contains several additives that we can do without.

Ingredients in Ching’s Veg Hakka Noodles which are a concern:

Sodium Polyphosphate: IN 452i

Salts of sodium/potassium/calcium/ammonium with phosphates. All are produced synthetically from the respective carbonates and phosphoric acid. It is used as sequestrants (metal binders), stabiliser and emulsifiers. Also used to retain water during processing and storage.
High concentrations of phosphates may disturb several metabolic processes as phosphate plays an important role in general metabolism.

Salt

Certain manufacturers do not mention the quantity of salt contained in their products. High sodium diets have been known to be the cause of high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. The recommended daily intake of salt is between 1-3 grams.
