In a shocking admission, the government has accepted that two thirds of all doctors practicing allopathy in India are quacks with no qualifications to practice medicine.
And what are these quacks “prescribing” to their “patients”?
- Unnecessary antibiotics contributing to the problem of antibiotic resistance.
- NSAIDs for everything and anything, possibly contributing to permanent drug induced damage, and to poor outcomes like death and disability due to improper or delayed treatment.
- Unhygienic practices and inadequate sterilisation causing the spread of disease and unwanted infections.
And more…
Quackery must be criminalised and strict action taken immediately across the country to put any unauthorised person practicing medicine behind bars.
This is an unacceptable state of affairs.
