UGC secretary Jaspal S Sandhu has written a letter to Vice-Chancellors of all Universities, stating that they have observed there are many canteens and/or messes on campuses of UGC recognised educational institutions that are running without a license made mandatory under the Act.

Kerala Probing Reports of Artificial Eggs
‘Artificial’ eggs are allegedly being sold in certain parts of Kerala said state Health Minister K.K. Shylaja on Wednesday and added that a probe would be done to find out the truth. She also said that she would ask the Food Safety Commissioner to seriously check the media reports if any such product was available.
It has been alleged that these eggs were making their way into Kerala from Idukki district in Tamil Nadu. The Idukki Medical Officer Rekha also told the media that in the wake of reports on the eggs, she too will probe the matter. Continue reading
